We collected some fiddlehead ferns today... a May delicacy around these parts. I must confess, I enjoy looking at them and picking them more than eating them, but fried up with butter they're not half bad. They taste kind of like asparagus to me. Jake won't even touch the things. Actually, Oona didn't eat any either for that matter....

Anyone have a fiddlehead recipe that might make these furled up ferns a little more appealing?

I love fiddleheads! My mom grew up on them in Canada since they grow like crazy along the st. john. We just use butter on them, maybe add in some spices.
